Little Gunpowder Trail
2 reviews
3 of 5
Fun & not crowded. Technical in spots, muddy after rain. Little Gunpowder (White) trail by the river is fun, while Blue & Yellow trails are less muddy with more climbs. From parking lot, follow LG trail south across bridge down to Jericho Covered Bridge. South of covered bridge, trail gets tricky & continues downstream to Franklinville Rd bridge & I-95. Trail currently ends at ballfields but Blue Blaze takes you back down to the river. BRACE YOURSELF FOR FUN !!! North from Jerusalem Mill parking lot, the LG trail gets technical but loops with another blue blaze trail & some nice powerlines that are rideable. Continue north to Belair Rd to cross bridge for an easier ride north to Harford Rd.
Take Belair Rd (US 1) north from I-695 to Kingsville. Just before Sunshine Avenue, take a right onto
Jerusalem Rd & follow to Gunpowder Falls State Park HQ on the Little Falls. Park on left past Jerusalem Mill.
Summary: Trail sucks, too many horses and rangers are nasty. I think this place is haunted, so take my advice and stay away. I got two flat tires in the first 15mins of the ride. Then I had a old man hit me with a walking stick, he said it was a accident, but his wife started laughing and said "good hit pop pop"!
Recommended Route: none

Summary: I love these trails !!! They offer a great variety of trails for every level & are a lot less crowded than the Big Gunpowder Trails. Watch for the occasional horses & pedestrians. A few challenging climbs with lots of fun downhills. If it's muddy, stick to the Blue & Yellow trails; they dry quicker.
Recommended Route: For shorter rides: ride north from parking lot on white blaze & loop back following the blue trail. Some nice climbs.
For longer rides, you can do a massive figure 8 loop, going south to Franklinville then back to parking lot, continuing north to Harford Rd & back
Other recommended trails in the same area: Sweet Air, Loch Raven, Big Gunpowder & other local powerlines
