Lots of kick ass fun singletrack. More of a fun ride, than a race course. Very fast, flat and Intermediate technical sections, little rooty, if wet that day be careful. Easy to slide off some trails. Up and down, back and forth. 6-9 miles of singletrack, 2-5 miles of roads. Race course is fast 1-2 miles of fire road(flat out) the rest is singlestrack. Not too many places to pass once in the singletrack. Get a good start(no worries).
from 404: follow rte. 404 out to rte. 50, when hitting 50, turn left and go south 2 miles to mile marker 25, turn right into the driveway in the trees, follow for 1 mile on dirt road/driveway. from south 50: make &-turn at light 404/50 junction, go south 2 miles to mile marker 25, turn right into the driveway. There will be a sign on Race Day at the entrance to the driveway.
Summary: Correction of 1st reviewer! The trails at Langshaws were and are avaliable for any and all riders who respect the property and are willing to help maintain the trails. Neither the Trust nor the Lea family are responsible for the trails up keep nor the safety of any riders. Len 'lenmoyerman@hotmail.com' has taken it upon himself to organize and be the info center for the riders that continue to enjoy the course that Rob and Tracy Lea orignally laid out and maintained for fifteen years +/-.
Recommended Route: Mile 356 US 50 Eastbound.

Summary: This trail was AWESOME once a year when it was opened up for the NORBA race. Now, under new ownership, it's CLOSED. That's right, 15 miles of some of the sweetest singletrack in the entire state is closed to bikes. What are they doing with it? "nothing, we just don't like bikes". fuckers.
Recommended Route: Don't go!

Summary: It started and ended with fireroads/farmroads and had lots of fun, tight, up-and-down singletrack. I liked it a lot and recommend racing it next year even if your a novice. It was the first MTB race for me, and i pulled a 4th place out of 10 and won prizes, and I had a really great time.
Recommended Route: I rode the course for the 2000 Eastern Shore MTB Championship
Other recommended trails in the same area: Lots of trails in Central MD like Loch Raven, Gunpowder (Kingsville) trails. Lots of fun, Loch Raven rocks!!!!

Summary: Totally awesome race course. Very fun, very fast, not too technical, though.
