everything you ever wanted to ride!! Do not go here on the weekends!! You will be run over by a psyco on a dirtbike. It is however safe on the weekdays. But I would still keep your ears open for motorcycles!!!

Summary:
Great place to ride. Haven't ridden there in the past 4 years, but went back this spring and all is gravy. Weekdays are best for less chance of getting run over, but weekends are good too because there aren't as many people riding motorcycles/quads here anymore, but they're still there. I guess you need permission, but if you're on a MTB don't worry.

Recommended Route:
from ohio- 224, veer right at the V or go to the fireworks store and turn right.

Summary:
Despite what others have posted, the quarry is NOT CLOSED, READ IS NOT CLOSED! There are a number of people who claim to "own" the quarry, and a lot of people will tell you BS. I live here, you can ride there, I was there just a few days ago. I have detailed where to park so you won't have any issues, just be smart, and be safe. Enjoy! Now, on to the review....

The Hillsville Quarry is limestone strip mine, which in recent years is being stripped again. Near Hoffmaster road, toward Bessemer PA, all of this area is what I would call un-ridable, and unsafe because it is being stripped once again.

The quarry covers Bessemer PA, Hillsville PA, Edinburg, and some of North Beaver PA. It is near Poland OH, but is NOT in it, however the BFI dump is, which has some good trails, and then there are also quarry areas in Poland.

Anywho, there is something for everyone here. Downhill, XC, you name it. You will find something to suit your skill level here. The area is frequented by many ORVs, so a weekday ride, or Sat. ride would be your best bet over Sunday. As far as total mileage or acerage, I am unaware, it would all depend on the routes you chose.

Nearby there are other trails that will take you along the Mahoning river towars Loweville OH (not the Lawrence county bike trail), and also other trails that will lead you to Ouaker town/Ouaker Falls.

I have made a detailed satellite image map showing points of interest, and safe areas to park your vehicle. If anyone is interested, I am more than willing to be a free trail guide.

If anyone has ANY questions, feel free to PM me at cds00bsmg or AIM me at cdsporscheturbo

Recommended Route:
On Rt 224 in PA, head towars Christine lane in Edinburg PA, zip code 16116. There is a plaza called Hilltop Centre at the entrance of Christine lane. You can park your vehicle here safely and without any issues, plus there is a snack place there to get some grub. This is the safest place to park your vehicle. You can also park your vehicle at the Mahoning township building with no issue.

To access the quarry, ride across 224 into the housing development, and follow the main road stright back into the wooded area. You are now in the quarry, and the path is yours to choose.

To access the trails that run along the mahoning river and rail road tracks follow Christine lane back into the housing development. (This is Gregg Circle.) Follow Christine lane down the hill towards the beige/gray house at the end, and you will see the trail entrance. Follwo the trails to the railroad tracks, and head LEFT to go towards Loweville. One you get to the bridge crossing, continue to follow the tracks until you see a trail entrance on your LEFT. Follow these trails to get to Ouaker Falls/Quaker Town, and then onto Loweville OH.

Summary:
awesome place to ride, drive, and not to mention swim! TONS of hills for the advanced riders, whoops, jumps, wide roads, mud, water etc. you name the type of terrain and it is at Hillsville. just a little confused over the whole issue of whether Hillsville is closed or not. please email me and let me know either way. also, if you are the one's who are littering back there, please stop. it just makes the area look bad and worsens any arguments about keeping the place open

Summary:
This place is still sweet. has anyone been to that huge rythmn section? if you've been there, you know what i'm talking about. you can get up to 20mph, if not faster, without even pedaling. it's sick.
If you haven't been there, keep looking. i can't explain where it is, but you'll know when you find it. Stay safe, we don't need anyone getting killed in there and the place getting shut down because of some crack head who thought he was the greatest rider in the world got killed.
