Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a pretty easy out and back trail. There is some deep sand in a couple of creek crossings then there is a lot of pretty sweet slick rock.
As some other reviewers have said it made more sense to us to drive to the second parking lot to start rather than grinding along on a dirt road.
The trail is a steady gradual climb up, mostly slick rock, ending at the Arches NP boundary.
Then you turn around, put it in the big ring and go as fast as you think you can handle.
On the way up stay to the left that hugs the bluffs. The trail is marked with white arrows painted on the rock.
Be sure to check out the dinosaur tracks which are outlined with rocks to they are hard to miss, pretty cool!
This is just a very doable, fun trail.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a great trail for a moderately fit biker. It can be technical in spots but overall is intermediate to easy..note thats intermediate to easy but when its hot its harder. I found out about it at a bike shop that suggested a route but we screwed up. We had to double back and ran into two other bikers a seriously fit older guy and his whiney not fit wife too bad for him. We went to the top following the "dashes" on the slick-rock its a climb but worth it. At the top park the bike in the rack and walk a quarter mile up to see the canyon views bring a camera in that MULE Camelback. It took us 5 hours out and back we parked in the first lot and rode the 3 miles in. Great trail out and back. Recommended Route: I took the first parking lot and rode the extra 3 in and out. You at first follow the signs go to the right to the left is the "Baby steps" which is harder. follow the trail markings and pay attention and stay left we went right and ended up on a wall and had to back track down. Up all the way following the dashes on the slick rock up to the barb wire fence. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hurrah is fun and Bar M for warm up is good. All the trails in Moab bring water-

Weekend Warrior Summary: I thought this trail was an excellent trail to familiarize yourself with the type of riding in the Moab area. Myself and a friend drove non-stop, 34hrs straight!, from Pennsylvania to ride in moab. This was our first ride in the southwest. Not very technical, but a good workout, and it will also get you used to the elevation, desert heat, and slickrock/sand combinations.
Mostly an even uphill grade on the start, but a speedy downhill ride on the way back. You should definitly stop and check out the bluffs at the top of the trail, beautiful place to take a breather before zooming back down the slickrock.
Great trail for intermediate riders, or advanced riders looking for a good warm up. You should definitly drive back the dirt road to the second parking area, otherwise you will have to ride 3 miles of sandy, and bumpy road to get to the trail head. I was there in May and recommend a minimum of 2-liters of water.

Weekend Warrior Summary: First off, most of these trails in this area are not as "advanced" or as difficult as they are made out to be. To me the hardest part about them is being in physical shape to handle them, especially if it is warm out that can be a real challenge. I thought this was an incredibly fun trail. It wasn't real difficult but just a good trail to go out and have fun on and get acquainted with the slickrock. Recommended Route: Take your car and drive along the dirt road until you reach the second parking lot. If you park at the first one all you are doing is adding about 3 miles of dirt road riding which isnt much fun. When you get to the end of the trail I highly recommend that you take the extra time and hike up into Arches and go to see the Klondike Bluffs as they are truly an amazing sight.

Cross Country Rider Summary: THis trail was a lot of fun. Nice views, dinasaur tracks, and a long fast ride down. I am from Texas and I took my wife on her first ride here. Bring lots of water if you are going in the summer, the rocks will bake you. At the top you can walk into the national park. Check out the tracks on the way up, so you can cruise all the way down w/o stopping.
