Pioneer Trail(Ephraim Canyon)
1 reviews
 5 of 5

Trail built by Skyline Cycles. Just restored during 2000. It used to be Pioneer Canyon Road during the 1800's. It is a good singletrack trail just for mountain bikers only! It is good singletrack fun with many turns, twists, wood bridges, and spitting out through the trees. Still under construction but you can ride it now. Go on the Flume Trail after that for more downhill fun. It's listed in the reviews too.

Trail Directions
Climb up the Ephraim Canyon Road for 10 miles with and elevation gain of 2,500 feet, it should be a good climb. Pass the Lake Hill sign, but don't go to Lake Hill. Go 1/4 mile more on the main road, it should be the first narrow dirt road that goes left after the Lake Hill sign, turn left there. Go down 3/4 mile(going north) all the way to the dead end of the road where the swinging bridge is. The Pioneer Trail is the one that goes west about 15 yards before the swinging bridge. Then go down the trail.

Summary:
This is a fun trail with tight singletrack through the trees. I like it and has many challenging obstacles. Flume Trail and Pioneer Trail are the only trails in Sanpete county that were built by mountain bikers. You'll have fun because I had fun going down it, there's a lot of turns and technical sectons. Good singletrack.

Recommended Route:
Expect a good climb up the Canyon Road all the way to Lake Hill with an elevation gain of 2,500 ft. and then go down the trail. Then go down the Flume Trail after that.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Flume Trail. Pioneer Trail connects to the Flume Trail. The Flume Trail should take you all the way down to the valley.
